Starting a Cell, Simply
There are several ways to launch a local Cell or a coordination Cell.
The quickest way: open a Telegram group.
Why Telegram?
Simplicity, immediate deployment, efficiency. If you use it, remember to install it on your computer as well to make management easier.
Even if starting alone, launch the Cell.
Concretely, two actions are enough to get started:
- Create a Telegram group for the Cell.
- Create a dedicated email address.
Next, gather interested people and meet in person as soon as possible. Build connections, get to know each other, then start the local directory (skills, availability, resources).
Creating Your Cell: Simple Steps
1) Open the Cell’s Telegram Group
- Creation: Make sure to create a group (not a channel).
- Group name: Cell MyBeautifulVillage 1234 (location + postal code).
- Type: Private.
- History for new members: Visible.
- Invitation link: Copy it and then pin it at the top of the group (right-click → Pin).
Recommended wording:
Invitation link for Cell MyBeautifulVillage 1234: https://t.me/...
2) Create the Cell’s Email Address
- Recommended format: Cell MyBeautifulVillage 1234@proton.me.
(Useful for those who do not use Telegram.)
3) Announce the Cell
- Send the email address + Telegram invitation link to: solaris.suisse@pm.me.
We will update the Swiss Cells Directory and announce it on the SOLARIS SUISSE channel as well as the channel for your canton.
4) Meet and Get Started
- Organize a first meeting (in person if possible).
- Get to know each other and start the local directory (skills, availability, resources).
- The Cell is autonomous and connected to the network of other Cells.
5) Support and Resources
We remain available to share guidance and useful tools to support your Cell’s autonomy.
Best Practices (Recommended)
- Pinned welcome message: Cell name, covered area, invitation link, email, basic rules.
- Simple rules: kindness, moderation in exchanges, mutual aid, respect for confidentiality.
